About
A small studio for practical progress.
SmoothRun AI helps small and medium-sized businesses in Canada, the US and Europe run smoother operations, win customers and use AI sensibly, without hiring a large consultancy or building an engineering team.
Why we exist
The gap we fill
Most growing businesses know their website and their processes could be better. Few have the time or in-house expertise to fix them, and large firms are rarely built for their size.
We work directly with owners and managers to find the problems worth solving, then design and build the solution ourselves. One team handles the website your customers see and the systems your staff work in, so the two fit together.
The name comes from the work itself. In automation tools, every time a workflow runs it is called a run. Our job is to make every run a smooth one, and to show you the run log that proves it, rather than asking you to take our word for it.
How we work
Four things we hold ourselves to.
Practical implementation
We build things that run inside your business: websites, workflows and tools your team actually uses. Strategy is only useful if it ends in something working.
Clear communication
Plain language, written scopes and regular progress you can see. If something is technically complicated, explaining it clearly is our job, not yours.
Responsible AI
AI is a tool with real limits. We keep people in charge of consequential decisions, minimise the data we touch, and say so when AI isn’t the right answer.
Measurable improvement
We measure how the work is done before we change it, so improvements can be shown rather than claimed.
Who you’ll work with
The team
Every project is led by the people you meet on the discovery call. If we bring in a specialist, we tell you who and why before they start.
How we earn trust
Clear commitments, in writing.
You can see how we work before you sign anything: working demos you can click through, written scopes, and the principles below.
- 01
Proof over promises
Our demos run in front of you. Portfolio work is labelled as concept, prototype or client work, so you always know which is which.
- 02
Clear deliverables
Every engagement has a written scope listing what you receive, what we need from you and what is out of scope.
- 03
Documented testing
Automations are tested against real examples before launch, and the results are written down so you can review them.
- 04
Data minimisation
We ask for the least access needed, prefer read-only connections and avoid copying sensitive data where we can.
- 05
People approve what matters
Anything consequential, such as an external reply, a payment or an access change, waits for a person to approve it.
- 06
Honest about limits
We tell you when AI is not the right tool, and we do not quote savings before measuring how the work is done today.
Tell us what keeps eating your week.
A discovery call is 30 minutes on what you want to fix. No pitch deck, no obligation. If automation is not the answer, we will say so.
